New Student Orientation

Orientation for new students at CalArts begins on Monday, September 1, 2008, when on-campus residents move in to their dormitories. Activities for new students begin on Tuesday, September 2, and all new students are expected to attend. The Schools hold informational meetings on Wednesday, September 3, and students will meet with their mentors at this time. On Thursday, September 4, and Friday, September 5, students will sign up for classes for the Fall semester. Classes begin on Monday, September 8.

 More detailed information on orientation activities will be mailed to new students in August. In addition, the orientation schedule and other important information will be posted on this website.

 Parents' orientation will take place on Tuesday, September 2 at 10:00 am. Parents should look for information mailed in early August.
