Recreation

CalArts has two tennis courts, a basketball court, and a fully equipped weight room (available to Chouinard and Ahmanonson Hall residents). Individual and team sports, van trips, and other recreational activities are all sponsored by the Student Affairs Office.

Tennis & Basketball Courts

Operating hours are 6am-10pm Sunday-Saturday. You will need a valid CalArts I.D. to check out the key through Facilities and/or Campus Safety.

Camping Equipment Available

Students with valid CalArts I.D. may on a first-come, first-served basis borrow camping equipment. Items available are: tents, camping stoves, lanterns, camping pads, & camping chairs. A check made payable to CalArts covering the cost of the items borrowed is used as a deposit until the items are returned in good condition. Please contact the Activities Coordinator with a 24 hour notice (Monday to Friday) to rent equipment. Items may be reserved only during the academic year, and up until two weeks prior to the end of the semester.
