Campus community notifications related to safety and/or security issues on campus or in the surrounding community are done in two ways.
Campus Safety administers the Institute’s mass emergency notification system. Students, faculty and staff can register to receive notifications of emergency events. These messages are only transmitted during emergencies and are an additional avenue of communication. The Vice President/Chief Financial Officer and Associate V.P. of Facilities and Administration, or designee, will make the decision of whether to issue a timely campus safety/crime warning or emergency notification on a case-by-case basis considering the facts surrounding the incident, nature of the incident, continuing danger to the campus community, and the possible risk of compromising law enforcement efforts.
