Campus closure/fire updates

Due the recent fire activity in and around the Santa Clarita Valley, CalArts was closed on Monday October 22 and Tuesday October 23. Classes were cancelled. Security and on-campus housing personnel were on campus to ensure the safety of campus residents. Food service was provided for students living on campus.

Mom's Cafe is open and available as an evacuation center for students, faculty and staff who have live in the area and need alternate shelter. Beds are provided, please bring bedding and personal items. Mom's Cafe is located on the first floor of Chouinard Hall.

Students, faculty and staff in the area are encouraged to stay indoors and urged to limit their travel within the city to a minimum, allowing for movement of emergency vehicles.
