Prospective Domestic Students

HOW TO APPLY - Undergraduates:

  1. 1. Complete a FAFSA to apply for federal financial aid, including federal grants and student loans at www.fafsa.gov
  2. 2. Complete a CSS PROFILE online to be considered for CalArts grants and scholarship awards.
  3. 3. If you plan to borrow a student loan, complete Loan Counseling and a Master Promissory Note (loan application) at www.studentloans.gov

NOTE: Undergraduate California Residents only: apply for a Cal Grant (California state grant) by completing the FAFSA AND mailing a completed CalGrant GPA Verification Form by March 2, 2014. 

Graduate Students:

  1. 1. Complete a FAFSA to apply for federal financial aid, including federal grants and student loans at www.fafsa.gov
  2. 2. Complete a CalArts Graduate Student Financial Aid Form to be considered for CalArts grants and scholarship awards.
  3. 3. If you plan to borrow a student loan, complete Loan Counseling and a Master Promissory Note (loan application) at www.studentloans.gov

Additional Documentation

In some cases, we may ask you to submit additional documentation to the Financial Aid Office. If so, please submit the information to the CalArts Financial Aid Office as soon as possible so that we can complete your financial aid file and award your financial aid.

If you plan to borrow your FIRST student loan at CalArts for 2014-15, you will also need to complete Loan Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note (loan application) at www.studentloans.gov .

Perkins Loan borrowers must complete Perkins Loan Counseling  each year that they borrow a Perkins Loan.
