Staff Development Committee 

The CalArts Staff Development Committee serves to empower staff by increasing communication, creating opportunities for professional development and inspiring health and wellness.

Tuition Reimbursement

The Tuition Reimbursement program provides employees with a reimbursement of $500 each semester or quarter to help cover some of the costs of tuition and books as they pursue a degree or professional certification. Please contact hr@calarts.edu for more information.

Staff of the Week Parking

The Staff Development Committee is please to announce a new reserved parking opportunity! Two highly coveted prime parking spots are now marked exclusively for the use of staff—one in the upper main parking area (Parking Lot 1), and one near the facilities entrance (Parking Lot 4).

Every time you participate in additional activities—insurance workshops, retirement benefits one-on-one, surveys, and health and wellness opportunities—your name will be added to the pool from which the names of two lucky weekly winners will randomly be drawn. Additionally, supervisors may submit names in recognition of exemplary job performance. The more you participate in CalArts related events the greater the odds of your name being selected!

Two names will be drawn mid-week for the use of the two parking spots the following week. Winners will be notified by email and will also be announced on the CalArts Staff Forum.

It is essential that you have obtained a parking sticker through Facilities so that they may monitor and verify that the car is yours. If you have not already registered your vehicle please do so as soon as possible.

Parking spots may be won multiple times throughout the year—there is no limit to how many times your name may be selected from the pool. Please know however, that if you arrive and the parking spot has already been co-opted by someone else, Facilities will not tow or cite the other vehicle. Additionally, if you win and are not able to utilize the spot during that week, you may have to forfeit the space and a new name will be drawn.
