Nathan Strum trained as an artist at several colleges - including CalArts - and has degrees in Advertising Art and Character Animation. Having had no technical training whatsoever, the irony isn’t lost on him that for nearly thirteen years he’s been working as the sole technician for the Character Animation Department. Nathan designed and built the department’s computer labs, and has written several grant proposals that helped to fund them. Currently, he maintains all video equipment and Macintosh computers within the department, and occasionally teaches classes in After Effects, Final Cut Pro and Photoshop. See also: geek.
