Jim Higgins has been a writer and editor in the comic book business for 15 years. He was an editor and assistant editor at DC Comics in the Paradox Press division and worked on The Big Book of Grimm, Hoaxes, and the ‘70s, and 14 others in the series, plus the graphic novels A History of Violence, Road to Perdition, both turned into to successful feature films, and Stuck Rubber Baby.   He is the editor and publisher of New Thing, an international anthology of short comics stories. He taught comic book storytelling for eight years at The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and cinema studies at The City University of New York for four and a half. He is the creator of the program of comic book classes called Meltdown University at Meltdown Comics in West Hollywood and presently teaches there. In 2002, he was involved with the programming for The New York-Tokyo Film Festival in New York City and interviewed film producers and guests before a live audience. He’s done administrative work for The New York Asian Film Festival since 2003, and been MC for occasional screenings in the fest.   He has also taught numerous workshops for teens and middle-school children on writing, comics, and art for The New York Public Library.
