DANCE: An MFA thesis dance concert about the human body.  The container of our lives and the stomping ground of our souls.  Our consciousness as we know it depends on it's existence.  It is an amazing, fantastical, complex and messy thing.  In today's world people have the option of remaining fairly indifferent to their bodies, only taking notice of it's functions when it insists, and aiming most of their attention of it towards judging it's appearance.  And yet, in spite of this we are still so intimately tied to our bodies it becomes easy to believe they are where life begins and ends.  Human Atlas is an evening of dance choreographed by Cherise Richards exploring the connection between the mechanical, the emotional and the astral bodies.
