Director of Institute Partnerships

Position Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, the Director of Institute Partnerships is responsible for creating, nurturing, and maximizing corporate partnerships that will advance CalArts programs, initiatives, and external branding.

Responsibilities
•    In close partnership with the Director of Corporate, Foundation, and Government Giving, create a portfolio of institute partners with whom CalArts will build a holistic advancement relationship.  
•    Liaison with the VP of Special Projects to identify, establish, and grow new business and institutional funding streams for CalArts through partnership vehicles that include, but are not limited to, the following:

o    Integrated marketing and branding platforms
o    Educational initiatives
o    New business ventures
o    Transformative corporate philanthropic gifts
o    Entrepreneurial initiatives created with CalArts alumni, parents, and friends

•    Build deep relationships with all academic arms of CalArts to identify, articulate and promote expansion opportunities of the Institute’s intellectual properties
•    Working in close collaboration with the office of public affairs, develop a corporate marketing plan that supports CalArts’ holistic corporate and business advancement relationships.
•    In consultation with CalArts’ General Counsel, develop policies and procedures that protect CalArts’ intellectual properties as well as fully leverage and value their promotion in a new business environment.

Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
•    Progressive and significant experience in, and previous responsibility for, integrated marketing platforms, corporate philanthropy, new business ventures, or a combination of the three
•    An innate and proven understanding of the intersection of the arts, commerce, philanthropy, and corporate responsibility
•    Familiarity with the arts and higher education
•    An entrepreneurial spirit that can identify and create new business opportunities and revenue streams
