Full-Time Faculty of Contemporary Dance Technique/Choreography

California Institute of the Arts - The Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance is seeking candidates with significant experience in contemporary dance technique and choreography for a full-time faculty position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Established professional artistic background as a contemporary dancer and choreographer with significant experience in teaching contemporary technique and dance composition.
The candidate must exhibit leadership abilities and compatibility with an art centered educational environment, and be willing to actively engage in the creation and production of experimental work, fostering rigor, and modeling and facilitating artistic creativity within the student body.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include teaching contemporary dance technique, choreography and one or more of the following: improvisation, contact improvisation, additional specific dance form(s), somatic practice(s), dance repertory and/or dance technology. Duties also include student mentoring, choreographing on students, coaching student creative work for dance concerts, graduate student thesis advising, and Institute and Departmental service.

Requirements

The successful candidate will join a faculty of engaged practicing artists, producing new work in professional contexts and choreographing for students.
