On Saturday, November 15th, CalArts alumni are invited to enjoy a special evening with Martin Kersels, CalArts Faculty and 2008 Guggenheim Foundation Fellow. Kersels will provide an overview of his exhibition, "Martin Kersels: Heavyweight Champion," the first retrospective his work. Spanning the years from 1994 to 2007, the exhibition includes thirty three multimedia artworks ranging from small sculptures, to large-scale photographs, to monumental installations.

The artist's talk will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., following which, guests will be invited to view choreographer Melinda Ring and dancers Sari Nordman and Kimberly Hamlin take over Kersels' sculpture/stage Rickety with Huh?, a dance about one moody individual portrayed by three people.

Also featured at SMMoA is Henry Taylor's Girrrrrl! (BFA Art '96) and Bruce Pollock's Circling West.
