Campus Tours
During the school year and summer - September 10 through December 14 (fall semester), January 17 through May 17 (spring semester), CalArts offers tours Monday through Friday at noon.
During the summer months (starting May 21 and ending August 30), CalArts offers tours Monday through Thursday at noon. You do not need a reservation for the tour. During the summer CalArts is closed on Fridays.
You should arrive at 11:45 am if you wish to take the tour. Although a reservation is not required, always call the Office of Admissions in advance at 661.255.1050 to be sure there will be a tour on the day you plan to visit.
Information Sessions
Information sessions are small group meetings led by Admissions Counselors and provide an opportunity for students to learn more about our programs and to ask questions about the application process. The information sessions are held for each of the following schools: Art, Film/Video (including animation), Music, and Theater. If you are interested in Dance, the MFA Writing Program or the MA in Aesthetics and Politics please call our office for an individual appointment. If you would like to attend an information session, you must call ahead to reserve a space.
We will not have information sessions or tours on Monday, May 28 ,Wednesday and Thursday, July 4 and 5 (Institute closed).
We will not have information sessions on Tuesday, June 5, Wednesday, July 18, and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 30 through August 2. We will offer the noon tour on these days.
The school year information session schedule - September 12 through December 16 (fall semester) and January 17 through May 17 (spring semester) is as follows:
- Art: Tuesdays and Fridays, 11am
- Film/Video - including animation: Tuesdays and Fridays, 1pm
- Music: Mondays and Thursdays, 11am
- Theater: Mondays and Thursdays, 1pm
The summer information session schedule - May 21 through August 30 is as follows:
- Art: Mondays and Wednesdays, 11am
- Film/Video - including animation: Mondays and Wednesdays, 1pm
- Music: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11am
- Theater: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1pm
Getting to CalArts
CalArts' 60-acre, residential campus is in the village of Valencia in the suburban city of Santa Clarita. The campus is north of Los Angeles, adjacent to Interstate Highway 5 on McBean Parkway -- 40 miles from Los Angeles International Airport; 21 miles from the Burbank Airport and only 1/2 hour north of downtown Los Angeles.
