Opportunities for teaching artists
Our mission
Since 1990, the CalArts Community Arts Partnership’s (CAP) mission has been to serve as the bridge between the California Institute of the Arts and the diverse communities of Los Angeles County. CAP works to address the systemic and structural race and income-based opportunity gap in access to arts education for youth across LA County. Through its programs CAP provides innovative arts learning opportunities for CalArts students and alumni to have the opportunity to develop and refine their arts teaching skills and solidify the integral role of artists in education and society. CAP is dedicated to being an inclusive and transformative leader in arts education.
Vision statement
CAP is committed to providing responsive, authentic, and collaborative community partnerships through tuition-free, after-school, summer, and school-based arts programs for youth in LA County. CAP will champion and foster the professional growth of CalArts students and alumni through rigorous, high-quality, and relevant professional arts learning, career preparation, and real-world engagement in classrooms and communities.
